Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the evolution of our SaaS applications. In this role, you’ll work across the entire stack—developing responsive front-end interfaces and robust back-end systems using modern technologies and frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and performant solutions that empower our customers.

What You'll Do

• Designing, building, and maintaining the central data ingestion platform that powers our SaaS applications, using .NET 8, Azure, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture—with a focus on efficient, secure, and scalable back-end code.

• Writing SQL queries and stored procedures to support data-intensive applications.

• Building and maintaining customer-facing interfaces in Angular 20+—including complex forms, state management, multi-step workflows, and data dashboards—where the work calls for it.

• Collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver secure, reliable systems and a strong user experience.

• Participating in Scrum ceremonies and contributing to the team's Agile processes.

• Proactively identifying and addressing technical debt to improve system maintainability.

• Ensuring high code quality through unit tests, integration tests, and adherence to coding standards.

• Debugging issues systematically and effectively across the full stack.

• Actively leveraging and shaping AI-assisted development workflows, including automation for code generation, testing, documentation, and developer productivity.

What We're Looking For

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• 5+ years of experience with C#/.NET Core for back-end development.

• 2+ years with a modern front-end framework like Angular.

• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and service-oriented design patterns.

• Proficiency writing SQL and stored procedures for relational databases like MSSQL or Postgres.

• Experience with object-oriented design and message queues or messaging frameworks.

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments (Azure preferred; AWS or similar also welcome).

• A track record of writing clean, testable, and maintainable code, with experience in unit and integration testing.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or integrating AI-powered internal tools or automation to improve developer productivity or software quality.

• Experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded enterprise-grade applications.

• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with component libraries (Bootstrap, Material-UI) for responsive design.

• Proficiency with state management libraries like Redux or NgRx.

• Familiarity with SASS, LESS, or other CSS preprocessors.

Location

Payscale Romania has an employee centric hybrid model that provides you the flexibility to do your best work in a space that supports you, while also finding time to collaborate in person in our office for the moments that matter.

When you work from home, we recommend ensuring that you can meet the following technology, equipment and workspace requirements:

• High-Speed Internet - A stable broadband or fiber connection (satellite is highly discouraged) with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps in a dedicated workspace that has a reliable Wi-Fi signal.

• Device for Multifactor Authentication (MFA/2FA) - smartphone, tablet, etc.

When it matters (usually no more than a few times a year) we take the time to gather in larger groups for in-person events.
