Discover ING Hubs Romania
ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 1700 high-performing engineers, risk, and operations professionals.
We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.
Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1500 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.
We enjoy a flexible way of working and a highly collaborative environment, where fair and constructive feedback is encouraged.
For us, impact isn't a perk. It's the driver of our work.
We are guided and rewarded by a shared desire to make the world a better place, one innovative solution at a time. Our colleagues make it their job to do impactful things and they love doing it in good company. Do you?
The Mission
At ING we have bold ambitions to improve the digital experience for our customers while empowering people’s financial health. At the same time, we want to make a positive contribution to the society and the world we live in.
Data is at the core of these ambitions. ING thrives to become intelligently empowered to:
Provide the best customer experience based on data and personalization
Reduce operational costs and through-put-time through data-driven optimizations
Empower employees to make better decisions with trend analysis and business intelligence
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Management Expert (DME) with a passion for data, modelling & design skills that will enable a delightful customer experience while interacting with our Data Products and will create a data driven environment through insights to support decision making. In your role, you will ensure that data products are optimally aligned with consumer requirements, trustworthy, well governed and delivered in a timely manner.
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
Help product lead organizing intakes
Work closely with our consumers to discover and meet their data needs
Analyze and clarify consumption requirements, create detailed functional specifications for DevOps engineers
Understand existing conceptual, logical and physical data models, and help draw up new ones, as you are a sparring partner for engineers in creation or sourcing data into physical data models (one of the existing models is ING’s version of IBM Banking Data Warehouse model)
Leads modelling and design workshops/sprints
Helps others in creating models and designs
Applies product/design thinking and challenges others to do the same
Is part of the trinity on product level
Lead the design / modelling outcomes in the product, responsible for the overall design of the product
Contribute to Data Governance – create and maintain Data Definitions as part of meta-data management (using IBM InfoSphere Governance Catalog), create Data Quality rules, contribute to Data Retention
Be an advocate of “ING Orange code” behaviors – helps others be successful, be one step ahead, take it on and make it happen
Responsible for Designing the full Customer Experience (not just UI), including all touch points and interactions a customer has with ING and the product over time
Responsible for following the design process from discovery to delivery; applying design tools & techniques according to ING standards
Creates mock-ups and prototypes to communicate and validate ideas, both internally and externally.
Ensures Both interaction and visual design are consistent with the ING standards and the overall (brand) experience and consults with the Experience booster (former CX board) where needed
Ensures delivered experience adheres to all ING’s design principles
Ensures usability risks are mitigated by continuously testing ideas with real users and customers. Takes decisions based on real customer data and insights.
Work with various stakeholders, such as Architects, data stewards, stakeholders (upstream & downstream the chain & other engineers within and outside the team)
What you’ll bring to the team
Knowledge and experience in data management, data warehousing, dimensional data modelling, data governance
3-5 years (minimum) of experience with data and business analysis
Strong knowledge of SQL
Knowledge or experience about Agile working
Strong conceptual and analytical skills
Knowledge of and experience in the banking sector
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
Enthusiastic personality and Team Player: focus on delivery through collaboration, ability to unite people to work towards the same purpose. Advocate of the “ING Orange Code”
Master’s or bachelor’s degree
