I like it!

Broker Comp consists of low to high level broker assisting departments. Tier 1-Senior Specialists and other teams like the RC&D team. It can be stressful as with any job, but I like my job. The performance goals are a bit steep but leadership does help mentor and develop skill, knowledge, and successful best practices. Quality assurance is no joke but totally understandable. Overall I’d recommend Broker Comp. Great work ethics and good teamwork.

Excellent place to work, good benefits. Could raise their salaries but benefits make up for a slightly lower than average salary. I’ve liked working there

Good place to work

UNUM is a good place to work. Good benefits. Time off and 401k package. Being remote can be tough, but they do things to try to create an online community. The pay is decent.

Worked here in 2001

I enjoyed working in the call center in the early 2000’s. My supervisor was lovely and everyone treated me with respect. Plus they had a yummy cafeteria.

Really enjoyed my time at Unum. Great company with a really awesome culture. Good pay and benefits. Nice facilities. Would recommend to anyone that’s looking for hybrid work.

Decent

I worked there for 10 years from entry level call center to a salaried position. The benefits are good. PTO was very generous. Pay was not worth the stress and hours.

Hard pay/raises

They do not do annual reviews for raises. & barely give raises. Other than that it is an amazing company to work for. Pto option is amazing and flexibility with pto is also nice.

All I can say it was my first Job and they are an amazing company. I unfortunately had to leave and relocate back home to take care of my father. But they were amazing and check everyday if they have an open position near where I live.

Your growth is up to you the opportunity is here, speak to your supervisor and they will help lead the way. Really speak to anyone and they are ready to help you learn or grow whatever your goals are. This is a place where I feel like my hard work is seen and appreciated. Unum has been around for 175 and there's a reason for it. The company takes pride in providing excellent benefits and providing exceptional customer service.Sometimes the calls can get busy but within my team, it's never over the top or last for hours on end.

Worked in contact center. Good culture and benefits. Managers have reasonable expectations. Keep in mind it's a big company so different departments can be vastly different working environments.

Great boss good work

I love my manager. She’s very supportive and smart and always provide challenging work opportunities. Some senior managers aren’t very empathetic to the employee perspective, but that seems to be improving.

Mammouth amount of information ** phone team** should be a call centre Job

Amazing Induction! ** BE WARY** For people who can't take in information within 4 to 5 weeks will be grilled! Also the Job advertised should also mention you need to take in a Mammouth amount of information. It really should be a call centre for those that think it's just Customer service. They also say the old you are just a number policy & old negative working environment is abolished! I thought to myself oh really? if you haven't had Call experience before you won't get much help at all unless the face fits. When you look at UNUM you think this could be a job for life? with HYBRID working roll mentioned it would suit some but Call monitoring is in play so you have to get it right. Six months was mentioned to get fully up to speed but I lasted only 4 weeks. You need mathematics to progress to the Claim Department! many don't like maths. when you start they supply the tech and Bombard you with information and 100 emails. Careful of the spotlight system I got in trouble for saying to a member of staff how good he was in training me. I got 625 points for been A nice person and unwaving sprit but it ended in tears. I felt as if I was forced out of UNUM dental as I liked it at first. So much for my training I wasted 4 to 5 weeks of my life. GOOD LUCK PHONE PEOPLE YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT!

Great managers

In my tenure at unum I have had great managers. Senior leadership is a different story. New technology and how to utilize it has senior leaders going back on thier word. No remote advancement available. Unum is highly focused on bringing folks into the office. Do not plan to be a remote worker here.

Remote but not happy with only a 30-minute lunch break

hours were great and the chance to work remotely was good, but having short breaks was not smart for such a stressful job at timespromotion was available if you wanted to work towards itI worked during covid so it was stressful handling all the death claims
